MRS. AUGUST SCHROEDER

Mary E. Rehberg, daughter of John and Susan Rehberg, was born January 7, 1860 in Sheridan township.

On April 27, 1880, she was united in marriage to August F. Schroeder. Seventeen years ago they moved into Grinnell where they have since resided. Some four years ago she was baptized into the body of Christ to which profession she has always remained faithful.

To her friends and neighbors she was always kind and obliging. To her church she was loyalty personified, often going beyond her strength in her work for it. Her last illness was characterized by an exceptional amount of patience in intense suffering, until her death last Saturday, July 28, at the age of 57 years, 6 months and 1 day.

Besides her husband and her aged mother, she leaves to mourn her loss, three brothers, Fred and Henry, of this county, and Clarence, of Sioux county.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon from the Church of Christ by Mr. Stowe assisted by Mr. Wilson. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Stowe, Mr. Shaw, Mrs. Burt and Mr. Myers. Burial at Malcom. The pall bearers were E.A. Easter, E.E. Fister, B.A. Abel, S.L. McGregor, J.R. Rivers and Howard Sage.
