LAVON B. SMITH

Lavon B. Smith, 75, of Fremont, Calif., formerly of Grinnell, died Tuesday, June 26, at her home.

Graveside services were conducted July 2, at Westminster Memorial Park in Fremont.

She was born in Sioux City, later moving to Grinnell where she attended school. She was married to Art Smith, and the couple moved to California where they raised their three children. She had lived in Carson City, Nev., before coming to Fremont in 1988.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy Harris of Fremont; two sons, Thomas of Cherry Valley, Calif., and Richard of Oregon; two sisters, Lucile Corrick of Arizona and Edith Schultz of Carson City, Nev.; one brother, John Beeler of Redding; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
