PEARL HAGEN, 71, SERVICES HELD

Funeral services for Pearl Hagen, 71, of Montezuma were held Sept. 13, at the Steffy Funeral Home. Mrs. Hagen died Friday, Sept. 11, at Grinnell General Hospital.

She was born in Poweshiek County on Aug. 4, 1899, the daughter of Mose and Jane Armstrong Gerard. She was educated in the rural schools of the county.

On Aug. 20, 1919, she was married to Leo E. Farley. The couple had one daughter. In 1944, she moved to California, and in 1946 she was married to Joe Hagen, who preceded her in death in 1952. In 1968 she returned to Iowa and made her home in Montezuma.

Mrs. Hagen was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ross and Carl Gerard; and two sisters, Mae Katzenburger and Pansy Arthur.

She is survived by her daughter Pauline; her son-in-law Carrol Ryan of Gilman; three grandsons, Richard, Bruce and Keith; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Cochran of Searsboro and Irene Johnson of Ottumwa; her brother Lewis of Chula Vista, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery.
