CARL OTTO GERARD DIES IN COLORADO

Mrs. Ross Gerard received word of the death of a brother-in-law, Carl Otto Gerard, 63, a former Montezuma area resident, June 17 at his home in Kiowa, Colo. Burial was in the Fort Logan, Colo., National cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, and a son, Carl Jr., of Kiowa, a brother Lewis Gerard, San Diego; four sisters, Pearl Hagen, San Diego, Ethel Cochran, New Sharon; Pansy Arthur, Searsboro, and Irene Johnson, Ottumwa.

He attended Simpson college and prepared for the ministry. Later he took an advanced degree at Evanston, Ill., and entered teaching. He was teaching in Kiowa High School at the time of his death. Carl was a World War I Veteran.
