AN OBITUARY OF MRS. MARY FRANCES HOTCHKIN

Mary Frances Duggan, daughter of John and Mary Duggan, was born June 7, 1873, near Tama, Ia., and died at her home in Grinnell, Nov. 5, 1935, after a lingering illness, which confined her to her bed for two years and four months. She was a graduate of Grinnell high school and taught school in Sheridan and afterward was employed at the Morrison-Ricker glove factory.

On October 9, 1901, she was united in marriage to James A. Hotchkin and to this union six children were born, Joseph, John and Gerald of Grinnell; Mrs. Floyd Ashing of Des Moines; Mrs. Proctor Stepp of Kellogg, and Mrs. Robert Badger of Grinnell. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. John Hotchkin, and two brothers, John and Thomas Duggan of Grinnell; also seven grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn her loss.

Mrs. Hotchkin was a kind and loving wife and mother, and those who knew her always found her to be a kind and gracious friend and neighbor.

Funeral srevices were conducted by Father T.C. Donahoe on Thursday morning, Nov. 7, at St. Mary's church, and interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

The pallbearers were six of her nephews, Edward Hotchkin, George Kelly, William Flanagan, John McLaughlin, Charles Kelly and Odo Hotchkin.
