--Olive Moody was born in Falmouth, Maine, Sept. 11, 1812, where she spent her childhood and young womanhood. She was married there in 1836 to Samuel Bucknam who with his wife soon after moved to Eastport, Maine. Mr. and Mrs. Bucknam continued their residence at Eastport till 1857, when they returned to Falmouth and lived there till 1874, and then moved to Grinnell. To Mr. and Mrs. Bucknam were born four children, only one of whom lived to maturity, Mrs. E.E. Treat. Mr. Bucknam died on the 6th of December, 1888, since which time Mrs. Bucknam has lived with her daughter Mrs. Treat. At the age of 88 Mrs. Bucknam was called to the better land, Monday, July 30, 1900, and entered an eternity of rest.

The services were conducted at the family residence at 1 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. W.P. Payne of Nevada, former pastor of the deceased, and her remains laid to rest beside those of her husband in Hazelwood cemetery. The life of Mrs. Bucknam was a continued blessing to all who knew her. She was an exemplification of the Christ life and a source of joy to her household.
