GERALDINE DANFORTH

Geraldine Danforth, 83, of Grinnell died of cancer Saturday, March 30, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

The body was donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

The family will receive friends at an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 6, in the Social Center at St. Francis Manor.

The daughter of Alfred and Nellie Robe Hoffman, she was born July 6, 1918, in Riverside, Ill. She was a 1936 graduate of Riverside High School.

She was married to Joseph D. Danforth July 6, 1940, in Riverside. They moved to Grinnell in 1947.

Mrs. Danforth was employfed as a travel agent for Grinnell Travel for several years. She was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, Grinnell Historical Society, PEO and Pi Rho Lambda.

Surviving are five children, James of Lockport, Ill., Cheryl Waite of Rock Island, Ill., David of Grinnell, Patricia Nuno of West Des Moines and Ann Chen Wang of Berkeley, Calif.; one sister, Patricia Keppner of Ludington, Mich.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children in infancy, Robert and Pamela; two brothers; and two sisters.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Grinnell Regional Medical Center and her church.
