DAN GORSUCH DIES SUDDENLY

Prominent Citizen of Montezuma Is Stricken by Paralysis; Funeral Was This Afternoon

Dan Gorsuch, prominent citizen of Montezuma, aged 74, died Wednesday afternoon at his home, following a stroke of paralysis. He complained of not feeling well early in the afternoon and lay down to rest. About four o'clock he mentioned getting up. His wife, an invalid, heard nothing more and called to him, receiving no answer. She became alarmed and upon the arrival of her granddaughter, Dorothy McKee, from school, she sent her to his room. She found him at the foot of the bed where he had fallen. The doctor was immediately called. He had been dead several minutes.

Mr. Gorsuch was a highly respected man of the Montezuma community, having lived there most of his life. He engaged in farming and fourteen years ago moved his family to the present home in Montezuma.

Mr. Gorsuch was a director and vice president of the Montezuma State Bank and a member of the K. of P. Lodge. He is survived by his wife and three children, Will McKee, Mrs. Henry Hutchinson of Montezuma, and Mrs. Albert Weiss of Manning.

Funeral services were held from the home this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.
