FUNERAL SERVICES FOR DR. H.W. NORRIS ARE IMPRESSIVE

Grinnell friends said their last farewell to a man who had built his life into the college and the community which he served and loved when funeral services were held at the Smith Funeral Home Friday afternoon for Professor H.W. Norris. Town and college alike had a share in the service. Rev. Leland W. Mann, Dr. Norris' pastor, read from the Scripture. Dr. J.D. Stoops, closely associated with Dr. Norris on the college faculty for many years, brought a brief tribute and offered prayer and Dr. J.S. Nollen, president emeritus of Grinnell college, delivered an address in which he emphasized the contribution which Dr. Norris had made not only as a scientist but as a friend.

A quartet from the college department of music composed of Professor Florence Vanderwicken, Professor Jean Ludman, Professor J. Forrest West and Professor D.E. Peek, sang "Abide With Me." The beautiful floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. L.G. Lemley and Mrs. G.P. Wyckoff.
