DIES IN LYNNVILLE

W.H. SYLVESTER, BROTHER OF D.M. SYLVESTER, PASSES AWAY.

W.H. Sylvester, oldest brother of D.M. Sylvester of this city, died Monday noon at his home in Lynnville, after a brief illness from pneumonia, aged 83 years, 11 months and 4 days. Funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Mr. Wood of the Friends church. Interment was in the Lynnville cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. D.M. Sylvester attended the funeral.

Mr. Sylvester was one of the old timers of Lynn Grove township. He came there with his parents in 1852 and spent the remainder of his life in the township with the exception of the time spent in the Union army during the Civil War. He joined the army in 1864 and took part in Sherman's march to the sea. Mr. Sylvester was an active and progressive farmer. He retired a number of years ago from his farm just west of Lynnville. Mr. Sylvester is survived by his wife and son. Another son preceded him in death about five years ago.

If he had lived until May 16 next he and his wife would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
