LAVELLE FORD SERVICES SET

LaVelle E. Ford, 48, 1314 Prairie St., Grinnell, died Tuesday morning, June 10, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, following a nine-month illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. James. P. Russell of the Grinnell Methodist Church officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner, and pallbearers will be Dan Agnew, Darwin Dopeman, David Diermer, Richard Ford, Lauren Hovland and Steve Johnson. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center. Should friends desire, memorials in Mrs. Ford's name may be left at the Smith Funeral Home.

The daughter of Irl and Anette Bausman, she was born March 29,1932, on a farm near Wellsburg. She graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1950 and attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

She was married to Harley H. Ford on March 10, 1951, and the couple lived in Wellsburg for three years and Grundy Center for 10 years before coming to Grinnell in 1964. Mrs. Ford was an insurance underwriter for Grinnell Mutual Life.

Survivors include her husband; her stepsons, Scott M. Ford of Newton and Kent M. Ford of Council Bluffs; her children, Candace N. Ford of Pella, Kevin I. Ford of Grinnell and Karin L. Ford of Grinnell; four grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Anette Bausman of Wellsburg; and a brother, Lawrence Bausman, also of Wellsburg. She was preceded in death by her father and a son, Kim.
