AUSTIN LEGG DIES AT 74; RITES MONDAY
Austin R. Legg, 74, formerly of 607-1/2 Fremont St., died Thursday evening the Shady Lawn Rest Home.
He was born in Malcom Sept. 28, 1888, son of Arthur A. and Eliza Chase Legg, and was reared in Poweshiek County, coming to Marshalltown in 1934.
He was employed as a truck driver for Western Grocer Co. and the Coca Cola Bottling Co. before his retirement in 1957.
His first marriage was to Mayme Gwin and he was later married to Maude Benton, who survives and is a resident of the rest home. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank Reynolds of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Victor Lindberg of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Raymond Brown, Rte. 1; a brother, Wilbur L. Legg of Montour and his mother, a resident at the I.O.O.F. Home at Mason City. His father preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
