MRS. LEGG, 76, DIES TUESDAY; RITES THURSDAY

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday for Mrs. Maude Legg, 76, who died Tuesday afternoon at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She had been a resident since 1962. The Rev. Dr. J.K. Delahooke of First Methodist Church will officiate at Pursel-Davis Memorial Chapel.

Born Nov. 1, 1888, in Poweshiek County, she was the daughter of Thomas A. Benton and Almeda Keysor Benton. Reared and educated in Montezuma, she was married to Austin R. Legg on Oct. 19, 1912 at Newton. She lived in Grinnell after marriage and for a number of years in Marshalltown.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Frances Reynolds, Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. D.W. Yates, Des Moines, and Mrs. D.E. Cooper, Pomona, Calif. Also a brother William A. Benton of Long Beach.

She was preceded in death by her husband on March 14, 1963.

Mrs. Legg was a member of First Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
