JOHN GUDDENDORF
John Guddendorf, 81, of Brooklyn died at his home Monday, Dec. 14.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fr. Joe Rogers, pastor of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, officiating. Organist was Marilyn Kriegel, and pallbearers were his grandsons, Mark, Curtis and Kevin Kriegel, Jeff and James Owens, and Randal, David and Gerald Moyer. Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom.
The son of John and Katherine Fatten Guddendorf, he was born Jan. 30, 1911, in Aurora, Ill.
He received his education in Aurora. He moved to Hayward, Wis., when he was 21. On Nov. 1, 1932, he was married to Hazel Irene Tinkle in Hayward. They later moved to Brooklyn where they lived until the late 1950s when they returned to Hayward. They returned to Brooklyn in 1972.
Mr. Guddendorf worked at a sawmill in Hayward and had worked for Malcom Elevator Lumber when living in the Brooklyn area.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Kriegel of Brooklyn, Marcella Moyer of Grinnell and Carol Owens of Grinnell; one brother, George of Canon City, Colo.; two sisters, Helen White of Spooner, Wis., and Katherine Broecker of Amery, Wis.; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, three sisters, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
