RUSSELL LIPPINCOTT

Funeral services for Russell Lippincott, 73, of Brooklyn, were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 23, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Mr. Lippincott, a former resident of Belle Plaine, died Monday night, Dec. 19, 1983 in his home in Brooklyn.

Rev. Raymond D. Moore, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church of Brooklyn, officiated. The organist was Mrs. Nina Bartachek and the soloist was Robert McCulley, Jr. Casket-bearers were Glen Koeppen, Jack Clement, Fred Vannoni, John Gates, Lowell Jones and Bill Donovan. Military rites were conducted by members of Jennings-Bradshaw Post No. 39, American Legion, Belle Plaine. Interment was in the Kent Cemetery, rural Brooklyn.

Russell James Lippincott, son of Ray and Agnes Douglas Lippincott, was born June 23, 1910, in Brooklyn. He received his education in Brooklyn Public schools.

He was united in marriage to Grace Bacon on May 23, 1934, in Brooklyn. Mr. Lippincott worked at various farm jobs and at Clay Equipment in Cedar Falls before entering the army in April 1943. After his discharge in 1945 he and his wife moved to Belle Plaine. He was a retired employee of James W. Bell Co., Inc. of Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Lippincott died Oct. 5, 1983. Mr. Lippincott moved to Brooklyn Dec. 1.

He was a member of IOOF Belle Plaine Lodge No. 151 and Jennings-Bradshaw Post No. 39 American Legion of Belle Plaine.

Surviving are two brothers, Dale and Dean Lippincott, both of Brooklyn; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian McClure of Malcom, Mrs. Florence Curran and Mrs. Virginia Zimmerman, both of Iowa City, and Mrs. Verna Clute of Coggon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, and three sisters.
