MRS. MARY FOGEL

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Fogel, 88, were held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 9:30 o'clock in St. Patrick's church in Brooklyn, with the Rev. Joseph Fath of Lacona, a nephew of Mrs. Fogel, singing the solemn requiem high mass. Rev. P.D. Moore of Grinnell served as deacon and Rev. J.L. Garrity of Brooklyn as sub-deacon.

Interment was in Calvary cemetery in Brooklyn, with the following serving as pallbearers: Robert Kriegel and her grandsons, Raymond Roth, Frank Roth, Jr., James Roth, John Thompson, Jr., and Sherrill Lynch. A sixth grandson, Joe Roth, who lives in Seattle, Wash., was unable to arrive in time to serve.

Mary Mashino Fogel was born Feb. 11, 1860, in Haspelscheidt, Germany, the daughter of John George and Ann Dawern Mashino and died Nov. 15, 1948, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Roth, with whom she had made her home for the past four years.

Mrs. Fogel came to this county 56 years ago, to New York, where she was married to Nicholas Fogel Feb. 21, 1895. They moved to a farm near Malcom. Mr. Fogel died in 1898. Mrs. Fogel made her home with her sister, Mrs. Joe Roth, Sr., of Brooklyn, except for the last four years which she has spent with her daughter.

Besides her daughter she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Pete Fath of Lacona, six grandchildren, Mrs. John Thompson, Jr., Mrs. Sherrill E. Lynch, and Joe, James, Raymond and Frank Roth, Jr., and six great-grandchldren.
