WARREN EDWIN FISCH

Warren Edwin Fisch, 81, of Deep River died Aug. 3, in University Hospitals, Iowa City. He was born Sept. 7, 1911 near Deep River, the son of Henry F. and Margaret Armstrong Fisch. He attended Salem rural school. On Dec. 24, 1936, he was united in marriage with Lena M. Pierce at Lancaster, Mo. To this union four children were born. They farmed southeast of Deep River until moving into town in 1971. He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Deep River.

Warren and Lena enjoyed dancing and going on trips together. He was proud of being a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed horses and was involved with the Deep River-Montezuma Saddle Club. He also like to watch harness racing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lena on Sept. 18, 1989; a daughter, Linda, in 1957; and infant grandson; a sister, Margaret Fisch; and two brothers, Walter and Orville.

Warren is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Lenore and Gerald Ru Lon of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Carol Ann and David Horras of Williamsburg; one son and his wife, Keith and Kathy Fisch of Deep River; six grandchildren, Lorraine and her husband, Kenneth Morris, Leigh Ann Ru Lon, Greg Horras, Jon Horras, Kasey Fisch and Kristin Fisch; one great grandson, Curtis Morris; one sister, Frieda Fisch of the Senior Home at Montezuma, and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Aug. 7 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Deep River, with Pastor Matthew Rueger officiating.

Congregational hymns were "I Know My Redeemer Lives," "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," played by Mrs. Verla Van Dee at the organ.

Casketbearers were Jon Horras, Kasey Fisch, Roger Roland, Greg Horras, Kenneth Morris and LaVern Rauch with interment in the Golden Rod cemetery, Deep River.
