JIM REAGEN

Jim Reagen, 79, of Grinnell died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

A funeral mass will take place Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. William C. Reynolds officiating. Organist will be Marilyn Kriegel with music also provided by St. Mary's Choir. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The son of James Joseph and Jessie Quire Reagen, he was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Grinnell where he was raised, graduating in 1946 from Grinnell High School. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Navy Seabees.

Following the war, he returned to Grinnell, then moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he was employed for several years at the Arthur Murray Dance Studios. He moved back to Grinnell in 1962, and on Nov. 15, 1962, was united in marriage with Donna J. Adair. He was employed at the Grinnell Elks Lodge and at the Iowa State Liquor Control Commission, retiring in 1979.

He was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Donna of Marshalltown and one son Steven Baker of California. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Reagen and Ruth Lucas.
