JESSIE REAGEN

Jessie Reagen, 98, of Wheat Ridge, Colo., formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, Dec. 2, at the Christopher Home in Wheat Ridge.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell from noon to 9 p.m. Friday.

A scripture service will be conducted Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. William F. Reynolds, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Virgil Groth, Mike Hotchkin, James Pierce, David Schmitz, Harold Schmidt and Jim White.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of James and Emma Jane Tucker Quire, she was born Dec. 29, 1897, at Searsboro. The family moved to Grinnell, and she attended Grinnell schools.

She was married to James J. Reagen July 3, 1919, in Grinnell. They lived in Grinnell where she worked for 30 years as a bookkeeper for Richardson-Phelps Lumber Co.

Mrs. Reagen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was the last living charter member of the Grinnell American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Lucas of Arvada, Colo.; one son, James of Grinnell; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Betty; three sisters, Carolyn Ent, Della Quire and Alice Lundquist; and two brothers, Charles and Merrill Quire.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church Foundation or to Hospice in Wheat Ridge.
