HARRISON H. FLEENER

Harrison H. Fleener, 85, of Traer died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

A private family interment will be held at a later date at Cedar Valley Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 14, 1921, in Cedar Falls to Henry and Edna Munger Fleener. He was raised in Cedar Falls, graduating from Cedar Falls High School. During World War II, he served with the United States Army Air Corps in India. Following the war, he attended the former Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, receiving the bachelor of science degree in social sciences. On Dec. 11, 1950, he was married to Charlotte Douglas in Cedar Falls. The couple lived in Waterloo, where he was employed in several departments of Rath Packing Company. Following retirement, he resided in Malcom.

He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Staton of Waterloo and Vicki Fleener of Malcom; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Douglas Fleener; one sister, Dorothy Snyder, and two brothers, Dale and Bernard Fleener.
