DR. ATWOOD BROCK
Dr. Atwood Brock, 90, 1829 Pine Glade Circle, Fort Myers, Fla., 33907-5796, a former Grinnell dentist, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at his home.
His body has been cremated. A private service was held in Fort Myers and plans are pending for a Grinnell service at a later date.
He was born Dec. 21, 1909, in Iowa City, the son of Dr. A.J. and Edith Brock. He attended Grinnell College and graduated from the College of Dentistry at the University of Iowa in Iowa City in 1933. He was married Oct. 21, 1939, to Katherine Hansen in Eau Claire, Wis. He began the practice of dentistry in Grinnell in 1940, then served in the United States Navy during World War II, returning to Grinnell to resume his dental practice in 1946. Dr. and Mrs. Brock moved to Fort Myers in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Beatrice. He is survived by his wife Katherine of Fort Myers; one son Fritz Brock of Allentown, Pa.; one daughter, Betsy Marker of Urbandale; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
