WILMA J. OLDS
Wilma J. Olds, 92, died Monday, Sept. 11, at the Mayflower Home Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Raymond C. Lott of the Grinnell United Methodist Church officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner, and pallbearers will be Harold O. Hanson, David Hamilton, F. Addison Jones, Charles M. Manly, Richard C. Seeland and Robert D. Smith.
Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mayflower Home Human Needs Fund or to the Grinnell United Methodist Church and left at the funeral home.
The daughter of Dr. Eugene F. and Nellie Hayes Blanchard Talbott, she was born Sept. 3, 1897, in Flandreau, S.D. The family lived in Boulder, Colo., before coming to Grinnell in 1902.
She was married to Eldon James Olds June 12, 1920, at her parents' home in Grinnell, and the couple continued to live here. Mrs. Olds was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Priscilla Club, Pi Rho Lambda, and P.E.O.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Looper of Milwaukee, Wis.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister Helen Blasier of Pittsburgh, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1977; two sons, Eugene in infancy and Robert A. and two brothers, David and Basil Talbott.
