CHARLES RECTOR DIED SUDDENLY

Funeral Services Said Sunday in Malcom.

Was Accomplished Musician and Was Making Tour of Training Camps.

Funeral services for Charles Rector were said at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church in Malcom, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E.W.F. Holler.

Pallbearers were Grover Eisele, Lester Schneekloth, Arthur Magnusson and Gordon Farley.

Miss Vesta Scott sang "Gathering Home" and "Close to Thee," accompanied by Mrs. Gordon Farley.

Burial was at Ivy Hill Cemetery.

Malcom and vicinity were shocked and deeply saddened when Mrs. Cora Rector received a message by phone from Oklahoma City Wednesday evening, October 11, that her son, Charles had suffered a heart attack and had passed away just as he was ready to go on the stage to do his act. Charles, his manager, Bob Easton, and little Lady Adette were with the U.S.O. entertaining at army camps.

Charles was born in Newton August 9, 1913, and passed to his heavenly home, October 11, 1944. Little Charles, as he was always called, had a wonderful personality, always smiling and full of life. He had many serious sick spells but was nursed through them by his loving mother's care, who idolized him. For this care and devotion Charles showed his gratefulness by always having her first in his heart. A greater devotion between mother and son could not be shown.

Charles was an accomplished musician and had played his xylophones and tray drums in every state in the union. He had finished his career in New York and was planning on coming home for a much-needed rest.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his mother; his only sister, Mrs. Fern Osborn; his brother-in-law, Gordon Osborn; six nephews and nieces, namely, Neal and Keith Osborn, who are serving their country overseas, Gene, Lucille, Blythe and Karel at home. His father, Forrest Rector, passed away November 19, 1942. He also leaves many other relatives and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
