CLARENCE L. HILL RETIRED FARMER OF KELLOGG DIES

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Kellogg Methodist church for Clarence L. Hill, 64, retired farmer of Kellogg, who died Friday night in a local hospital. Rev. E. LeRoy Pullman was in charge of the services. Pall bearers were Lloyd Hurdle, Oliver Millgate, Harry McGinty, Walter Paulson, Buren Bailey and Charles Jacobs. Serving on the flower committee were Mrs. Robert Russie, Mrs. Richard Bishop, Mrs. William Martin and Mrs. Ralph Bailey. The Bethel quartet sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Rock of Ages," accompanied by Mrs. Cliff Fritz at the organ.

Mr. Hill operated a farm southeast of Kellogg for many years. He retired three years ago and moved to Kellogg.

He was the son of Charles and Ida Hill and was born June 12, 1886, in Jasper county. He was educated in Jasper county schools and spent his entire life in the county.

He married Ida Bailey on April 4, 1917 and four daughters were born to this union, all of whom survive.

Mr. Hill served in the regular Army for a time and was on patrol duty along the Mexican border.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Ruby) Sedlock, Knoxville, Mrs. Floyd (Wanda) Stepp, Kellogg, Mrs. Edwin (Eleanor) Witte, Kellogg and Mrs. Wanetta Stepp, Kellogg; two grandchildren, Fontella and Gordon Stepp; his mother, Mrs. Ida Mae Hill, Kellogg; one brother, Dr. Floyd S. Hill, Kellogg; two sisters, Mrs. Howard Wheatcraft, Kellogg and Mrs. Lloyd Ferguson, Laurens, Ia.
