AUDREY BAILEY SERVICES SET

Audrey Bailey, 98, of Grinnell died Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Lott of the Grinnell United Methodist Church officiating. Organist will be Margaret Wheeler. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery.

She was the daughter of Charley and Cherlottie Heifner Beals and was born on Nov. 2, 1889, near Newton. She attended Newton schools, and following her education she taught in rural Jasper County schools.

On Nov. 11, 1916, she was married to Oral Cory Bailey in Des Moines. They farmed in the Bethel community north of Lynnville. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Bethel Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Bethel Ladies Aid. The couple moved to Grinnell in 1961.

There are no immediate survivors. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Clifford who died in infancy; and four brothers, Ray, Harry, Harvey, and Ralph Beals.
