WILLIAM HILLIGAS
William Hilligas, 77, formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, April 7, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Prairie City, with burial in Waveland Cemetery there.
The son of Frank W. and Mary E. Force Hilligas, he was born May 18, 1913, in Westphalia, Kan. He was married to Doris Thompson May 18, 1933, in Newton.
Mr. Hilligas had farmed and also was employed as a carpenter. He had lived in the Grinnell, Malcom and Prairie City areas.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge, both in Prairie City.
Surviving are his wife, Doris; one son, Bob of Knoxville; a sister, Vivian Myers of Newton; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant granddaughter, six brothers and two sisters.
