DORIS HILLIGAS

Doris V. Hilligas, 85, of Grinnell, formerly of Prairie City, died Thursday, March 26, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Prairie City United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Roy Merrill officiating. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery, Prairie City, with the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She was the daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Orpha Alice Binegar Thompson and was born Sept. 9, 1912, in Grinnell. She was a graduate of Searsboro High School.

She was married to William Hilligas May 18, 1933, in Newton.

A homemaker, Mrs. Hilligas was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by one son, Robert of Knoxville; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one sister, Bessie Cope of Kellogg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the Prairie City United Methodist Church.
