ELIZABETH JANE LESLIE HENRY

Elizabeth Jane Leslie was born in County Down, Ireland, May 1, 1853 and departed this life June 16, 1907, aged 54 years, 1 month, and 16 days.

She was married to James W. Henry, March 14, 1878. To this union were born eight children, four sons and four daughters. One daughter preceded her to the heavenly home. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her loss.

As a wife and mother Mrs. Henry was most devoted. She never wearied in her work of kindness and love to those about her and in her home was a cordial welcome for all. Whether present or absent the welfare of her children was ever upon her heart.

As a friend and neighbor she was kind and true and the whole community mourns her loss.

As a Christian, she was ever found at her post of duty. Uniting with the church in early life she has continued faithful to her covenant vows. To her it was indeed a joy to go up to the house of the Lord. In her death, Fairview congregation has lost a most devoted friend.

The funeral services were held from the home Tuesday, June 18 at 10 o'clock and were in charge of Rev. W.W. Woodburn, a former pastor. A very large company of sorrowing friends followed the remains to Brooklyn where the body was laid to rest in the Brooklyn cemetery.
