FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR E.M. RUPP

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Ross for Emery Martin Rupp, 73 years, who died April 11, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wise at Jamestown, N.D.

Pallbearers were Geo. Bruns; Wm. Hannah, John Fencl, J.H. Breeling, J.A. Meiers and Dave McKinnon.

Emery Martin Rupp was born Sept. 10, 1868 in Johnson County, Iowa and was 73 years, 7 mo., 1 da. at time of death. There he grew to manhood.

His marriage to Ettie Force took place December 5, 1894. The family made their home at Belle Plaine, Iowa. Five children were born to them. Ora died in infancy. Roy, Sanish, N.D., Marie, Mrs. Graham, Stanley and Cecil, Bend, Oregon.

In 1904 the family moved to Osakis, Minn. In 1906 Mr. Rupp filed on a homestead in Rat Lake Twp. and that fall moved to North Dakota. The fall of 1920 the family moved to Ross. After his wife's death in 1929 Mr. Rupp made his home in Iowa for a time and then at Melmo, Minn.

In May, 1937, Mr. Rupp was married to Mrs. Buck of Melmo, Minn. who preceded him in death.

About a month ago he was taken ill at his home at Melmo, Minn. and his daughter, Mrs. Wise of Jamestown, took him to her home. Here he passed away April 11. Mrs. Graham of Stanley visited her father the week before his death.

Aside from the immediate family he also leaves to mourn his passing one brother, Lewis Rupp of Belle Plaine, Iowa and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Fisher and Mrs. Clara Briney, both of New Sharon, Iowa and Mrs. Frances De Bates of Armstrong, Iowa and 6 step-children and 12 grandchildren.

Rev. Knuth of the Baptist church of Stanley officiated and he was laid to rest in Rosehill cemetery to await the resurrection.

NOTE: In the 4th paragraph, his dau. Mrs. George Wise is not listed among his 5 children.
