FERNEAU RITES HELD SATURDAY

Fred W. Ferneau, 68, died of a coronary attack at his home in rural Tama at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5.

Funeral services for Fred W. Ferneau were held on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tama with the Rev. Harold Tegtmeier, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown.

Born in Highland township on Oct. 8, 1908, he attended school at Highland No. 5. He was married to Edna Bernice Depew at St. John's Lutheran Church in 1932. They lived on the former Fred Ingersoll farm until they bought the Frank Lacina farm in 1942. He retired from farming in March of 1971 and became a salesman for Northrup-King Seeds.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Margaret Ann) Herink of rural Traer; and a son, Donald Ferneau of Rock Falls, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
