STEPHENSON. -- Died, at her home in Kirkville, Jan. 19, 1887, of pulmonary consumption, Mattie E. Stevenson nee Harris, wife of W.S. Stevenson.

The deceased was in her early life a member of Society of Friends, but a few years previous to her death she was united with the M.E. church. Having been converted in her youth and living an exemplary Christian life, when the summons came she was ready to depart, talking calmly of death, and requesting her friends to meet her in heaven. The funeral services were held at Cedar Chapel, and were conducted by Rev. E.J. Pike, who preached from Phil., 1:23,24, after which her remains were conveyed to Oskaloosa and interred in Friends' cemetery.--Oskaloosa Herald.

The deceased was a sister of Mrs. A.C. Hutchinson.
