DELLA MAE PATTEN

Della Mae Patten, 91, of Grinnell, formerly of Brooklyn, died Sunday, June 16, at St. Francis Manor.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn, with the Rev. William Daylong officiating. Organist was Anita Ormiston. Pallbearers were Mrs. Patten's grandsons. Burial was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery.

The daughter of William A. and Eva Anna Keeney Smith Patten, she was born near Springfield, Mo. She moved with her family to Brooklyn.

On Oct. 11, 1920, she was married to John Edwin Patten in Marshalltown. They lived in Brooklyn and, for 35 years, in Grinnell. They returned to Brooklyn in 1973. Mrs. Patten had been a resident of St. Francis Manor for four years. She was a former nurse's aide at St. Francis and had been an employee of Tent and Awning of Grinnell.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary
of Kellogg and the Birthday Club of Holiday Lake.

Surviving are eight daughter's, Doraldine Edstrom of Omaha, Neb., Norma Wilson of Grinnell, Anna Belle Robison of Cedar Falls, Donna Collum of Welton, Pat Clark of Kellogg, Nancy Ogden of East St. Louis, Ill., Lila McCammant of Grinnell and Linda Patten of Grinnell; three sons, Wayne of Brooklyn, Ed of Lebanon, Mo., and Jim of Brooklyn; two half-sisters, Ruth Rhinehart of Brooklyn and Pauline Lynch of Belton, Mo.; 39 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, one sister, two half-brothers, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
