O. JENE NORRIS SERVICES HELD THIS AFTERNOON

Funeral services for O. Jene Norris, a former Grinnell resident, were held this afternoon (Thursday) at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home.

The Rev. Clifford Gerard of Mount Ayr, Ia., officiated and interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Mrs. Noel Taylor was vocalist and Mrs. Kathleen Heffner organist. Pallbearers were Robert Henderson, Arthur Olson, Perry Wilson, Wayne Selle, Herschel Beck and Nigle Anderson.

Norris passed away Monday morning at his home in Rockford, Ill.

He was born April 29, 1893, at Montezuma and attended the schools of this community. For 26 years, he was a foreman for the county board of supervisors at Brooklyn, and for the past 15 years had made his home in Rockford, Ill.

Norris is survived by his wife, Grace, of Rockford, Ill.; his daughters, Mrs. Ed (Dorothy) Hughes of Grinnell, and Mrs. Ernest (Opal) Beason of Grinnell; his son, R.W. "Jack" Norris, also of Grinnell; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. George Gilbreaith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, seven sisters and his son Gerald.
