Irene E. Norris, 88, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, died there Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, following a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Richard Price will officiate. Graveside services and interment: 1 p.m. Friday, Brooklyn Cemetery, Brooklyn. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral from 4 to 7 p.m. today and at the chapel after 9:00 a.m. Friday.

Survivors include sons, Gary (Judy) of Columbus, Ind., and Michael (Linda) of Hiawatha; granddaughter Michelle (Chris) Gattuso of Chicago; grandson, Brian (Tara) Norris of Chicago; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Jacob Gattuso of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Norris; her brothers, Earl Freese and Willis Freese; three sisters, Vera Williamson, formerly of Clinton, Ill., and Elda Daves and Dorothy Lamb, both formerly of Cedar Rapids.

Irene was born Feb. 10, 1915, in Burt, Iowa, the daughter of William and Elsie Pommerening Freese. She married Ralph H. Norris on Sept. 12, 1933, in Brooklyn, Iowa. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1960.
