SERVICES SAID FOR FRANK VEVERKA
Passed Away at Age of 83.
Survived by Seven Children.

Was Born in Prague, Bohemia, And Came to United States When was Three.

Final rites for Frank Veverka, 83, were held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, December 30, at the Christian Church with the Rev. Paul C. Ellis of the Methodist Church conducting the service. Mr. Veverka had been in failing health for some time.

Joyce and Billy Rempp sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied by their mother, Mrs. Paul Rempp.

Those serving as casketbearers were: P.L. Lambert, Emmett McFerren, Mahaska Miller, Henry Kime, Ben Purdum and Clyde Beason. Interment was in the Jackson Township Cemetery.

OBITUARY
Frank Veverka, son of Wesley and Josephine Veverka, was born August 21, 1865, in Prague, Bohemia; and departed this life Dec. 28, 1948, in Montezuma, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 7 days.

At the age of three he came to America with his parents, who settled on a farm in Iowa County. There Frank grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage to Martha Norris; to them nine children were born.

About 1914 the family moved to a farm near Montezuma, later moving into Montezuma where he resided until his death. He and his wife bacame members of the Church of Christ in Montezuma.

Mr. Veverka was preceded in death by his wife, and by two sons, Fred and Earl. He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Pearl Lepley of Richman, Calif., Esther Schlesselman of Victor, and Allie Mulhern of Mason City; 4 sons, Charles of Ryan, Ohio, Lewis and Loren of Des Moines, and Raymond of Monroe; one brother, Wesley, of Victor; and two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Swatosh and Miss Julia Veverka of Cedar Rapids. There are also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren besides a host of friends.
