The Montezuma Republican, May 19, 1960: Memorial Services for Mrs. Aily HICKS Held in Montezuma: Pansy Blossom, daughter of Joseph and Birdella WORKMAN, was born June 30, 1898 at Molton, Iowa, and died at her Montezuma home May 11, aged 61 years, 10 months and 11 days. She was united in marriage to Aily HICKS, Mar. 12, 1917, at Davenport, and to this union six children were born. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Harold HICKS, Deep River, and Lloyd COVAULT, Phoenix, Ariz.; four daughters, Mrs. Melvin OCHS and Mrs. Bernie WEIMER, both of Deep River; Mrs. Elvin TAYLOR, Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Harlon JOHANNES, Montezuma. Also by 24 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle GUYER, Grinnell, Mrs. Alfred WAHNER, Reasoner, and Mrs. Violet STOLTZ, Des Moines; and nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. HICKS lived most of her life in the Montezuma community and was a member of the Baptist church at Salem. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., May 14 at the Steffy Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Max JOHNSON, of the Oskaloosa Assembly of God church. Mr. and Mrs. Keith STAHL, accompanied by Louis GORSUCH, sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset". Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcolm. Casketbearers were David RICHARDS, Jack SHIPMAN, Nolen HICKS, Donald MOORE, Everett RHODES and Harold VerSTEEG.
