FIRE CLAIMS 2ND VICTIM
IN DEATH OF REIMERS

Harry Reimers, 34, of rural Grinnell died early Sunday morning, Nov. 10, at University Hospitals in Iowa City of complications from extensive burns he suffered in a Sept. 25 fire at his home.

The blaze also claimed the life of his son Lance, 10, who died at the scene.

Mr. Reimers had been undergoing skin grafts for the severe burns, which covered 90 percent of his body. He had been in the hospital's burn unit since the fire, which was triggered by a faulty furnace.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Grinnell Christian Church, with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Mr. Reimers is survived by his wife, Janice; one son, Chad; and his mother, Mildred Reimers of Brooklyn.
