The Grinnell (IA) Herald
April 15, 1904

--At a mass meeting of citizens of Brooklyn Tuesday evening which was well attended, the question of voting on the change of county seat to Grinnell was thoroughly discussed and a resolution was unanimously carried to the effect that signers of the petition ought to stand by their signatures and refuse to sign the remonstrance. The people of Brooklyn believe that this question ourght to be settled at the polls and they believe that when one has placed his name on a petition and then signs a remonstrance he shows himself fickle minded. One should know his own mind well enough not to vote on both sides of the same question.
