GREGSON IS
96 YEARS OLD

The following article appeared in a Quinn, S. Dak., paper:

"The oldest member of the community is Mrs. Nancy Hall Gregson, who celebrated her 96th birthday Friday, July 28.

"Born in Jefferson county, Iowa, in 1843, that state was her home through childhood and for a quarter of a century after her marriage to Jackson Gregson in 1858. Then in the spring of 1883, with her family, she moved to a homestead near Kimball, S.D. In 1986 the Gregsons returned to Iowa to make their home until 1907 when the lure of the Dakota prairies again called them back to this state.

"Mrs. Gregson is the mother of ten children, five of whom are living. They are M.C. Gregson of Grinnell, Ia., E.W. Gregson of Kimball, Mrs. Etta Lamb of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Chas. Farnsworth and J.W. Gregson of this place.

"She has 18 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.

"As she approaches the century mark, this venerable lady enjoys splendid health and takes much pleasure in visits from her children and friends. Last winter she had the unusual distinction of being able to attend the celebration held here in honor of the golden wedding anniversary of her son, J.W. Gregson."
