BROOKLYN COUPLE
WED ON EASTER

Miss Betty C. Morgan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morgan, and Richard B. Osborne, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.V. Osborne, all of Brooklyn were married on Sunday, April 10, at the Grace Methodist church in Brooklyn at 3:00 p.m.

Rev. M.C. Shupe, pastor of the church, officiated at the double ring ceremony. The background was fashioned of Easter lilies, daffodils and ferns with lighted candles.

Wanda Fitzsimmons of Albia was accompanied by Mrs. Gilbert Sumner on the organ when she sang, "I Love You Truly," and "The Lord's Prayer."

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a white ballerina length gown, with a two-tiered bouffant skirt of nylon net and lace over a taffeta underskirt. It was made with a boned bodice of lace, and soft shirred net insert lined the bodice front. A self-buttoned bolero of lace was worn over the gown and the long sleeves came to a point at the wrist.

Miss Donna Y. Arvidson of Brooklyn was maid of honor and wore a street length dress of pale yellow silk organza with rounded neckline. Her jewelry was a necklace and earring set, a gift of the bride.

Richard W. Johnson of Grinnell attended the groom. Mervin R. Morgan of Norfolk, Va., and Gene O. Morgan of Camp Chafee, Ark., brothers of the bride, and Marvin Lacaeyse of Brooklyn and T.F. Buchenau Jr., also of Brooklyn acted as ushers.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Morgan wore a navy blue flowered crepe with white accessories. The groom's mother chose a blue silk shantung suit with white accessories.

A reception, held in the church parlors, found Mrs. Alfred Byers and Mrs. Freeman Dayton as hostesses, with Mrs. Virgil Johnson cutting the four-tiered wedding cake, which was topped with a miniature bride and groom.

Mrs. Marvin Lacaeyse, Mrs. John Hand, Elizabeth Ryan, Patricia Morrison and Beverly Johnston served the guests. Mrs. Dean Montgomery, Mrs. T.F. Buchenau, Jr., and Beverly Beason were in charge of the gifts. Those at the coffee services were Mrs. R.P. Osier of Des Moines and Mrs. George Christianson of Oskaloosa, aunts of the bride.

In charge of the guest book was Miss Geraldine Roth.

The bride's traveling costume was a two-piece beige suit with red and white accessories. She is a graduate of Brooklyn high school in the class of 1953, and is now employed at Poweshiek County Savings Bank in Brooklyn.

The groom graduated from Hartwick high school in 1950, and served with the Coast Guard for two years. He is now engaged in farming and after a trip to an undisclosed destination, will take his bride to a farm near Brooklyn.

Guests from out-of-town attending the wedding were from Des Moines, Montezuma, Spencer, Belle Plaine, Victor, Albia, Grinnell, Marshalltown, Oskaloosa, New Sharon, Hartwick, Latimer, Malcom, and Deep River.
