MARRIED.

PIERCE-THOMPSON

At the hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Pierce near Blue Point, January 18th, 1914, occurred one of the happy social events of the season, when their youngest daughter, Alda Marie, became the bride of Edward D. Thompson.

At the appointed hour, six o'clock P.M., the guests were assembled in the spacious parlors which had been tastefully decorated with ferns and potted plants, and the rendering of the beautiful wedding march upon the piano, by Miss Lola Beeler announced the coming of the bridal party.

The bridal couple accompanied by Mr. Clifford Fleener as best man, and Miss Mertie Pierce, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, took their places under the beautiful bridal arch.

In the presence of sixty-five invited guests, Rev. Walter Dexter of Oskaloosa, performed the impressive ceremony that made the happy couple man and wife.

The bride was beautifully gowned in white silk trimmed with fur and lace and carried a large bouquet of pink roses.

After the usual congratulations a two-course luncheon was served by four young lady friends of the bride.

The bride's cake was baked by Miss Christina Heilmayer, and was very fine. It was cut by the bride and each parting guest was presented with a piece as a remembrance of the happy occasion.
