"MEMO" MENDOZA
ENGAGED TO
CALIFORNIA WOMAN

Mr. and Mrs. James Rice, of Beverly Hills, Calif. announce the engagement of their daughter Carol to Dr. Guillermo R Mendoza Jr., son of Prof. and Mrs. Guillermo Mendoza Roux of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Grinnell.

Miss Rice, who graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, now attends the University of California in San Diego where she is working on a Ph.D. program. She will attend the medical school at U.C.L.A. starting next September.

"Memo" Mendoza attended the Grinnell schools, *graduated from Grinnell High School and from Grinnell College. He has an M.D. degree from the University of California in San Diego, did graduate work at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md., and now is an assistant professor of pediatrics and a specialist in immunology at the U.C.L.A. Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The couple plans a June 27 wedding in Beverly Hills.
