--Mr. and Mrs. Gib Elliott went down to Wapello, one day recently, to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Elliott. They reached the city of Wapello in the night and when Mrs. Elliott got out of the car she accidently stepped in a manhole in the sidewalk, precipitating her clear to the bottom of the basement floor. She sustained some broken ribs and was otherwise considerably injured and bruised.--Deep River Record.
