A HAPPY SURPRISE
---------------------------
Oliver Park's son from California Comes to See His Father.

Oliver Park received the surprise of his life yesterday when he was sitting on the front porch alone, and in his total blindness heard footsteps, and was accosted in a deep, manly voice with the words, "Father, you are surely looking well."

Oliver put out his hand for a shake, but not knowing which of his neighbors might be addressing him by that kind appellation, said: "Who is it?"

"It is Hubbard," answered his only son, who had come unannounced from California.

Hubbard Park grew up in Grinnell, and graduated from the High School in 1903. He has lived in the west ever since. It is eleven years since he has visited in Grinnell. He expects to be here about two weeks.
