THROWN UNDER DISC BY RUNAWAY TEAM
Norris Lovig, who works for C.J. Huff, three miles east of town, had a very narrow escape from serious injury Friday evening. Norris was returning from the field with the disc, which was drawn by two horses and two mules. On meeting a truck in the road the team took fright and ran away, and Norris was thrown under the disc. Miraculously he was not seriously injured, only dazed, although the disc passed over him. None of the discs struck his head. The worst cut he received was just below his right knee, which necessitated four stitches to close it. The team ran a short distance further and the horses and the disc went into the ditch, some of the team falling down. Norris managed to get the team and disc untangled and proceeded with them to the barn. Norris is off duty until his wounds and bruises heal.--Gilman Dispatch.
