LOCAL NEWS

Members of the sheriff's force, raiding the country home of *Otto Stepp, five miles northwest of Kellogg, failed to discover any evidence of illicit liquor but returned with a copper coil alleged to be part of a still. Acting on a tip received earlier in the day, deputy sheriffs Glen Stock and Harry J. Agnew, accompanied by George Eichner, Kellogg constable, made the trip to the farm shortly before noon. A thorough search of the premises was made and according to the officers, no signs of liquor traffic were discovered other than the coil. No arrrests were made.--Newton News
