The Brooklyn (IA) Chronicle; Jan. 16, 1906

The marriage of Miss Nellie Murphy and Mr. D.J. Cannon was solemnized Wednesday morning of last week at the Catholic church in Victor, Rev. Father Frencken officiating.

The attendants were Miss Margaret Kilcoin, of Marengo, a cousin of the bride, and Mr. John Cannon, brother of the groom. The bride was prettily gowned in a light wool and carried a white prayer book.

Following the ceremony at the church a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Murphy.

In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Cannon drove to their home seven and one half miles south of Brooklyn, where a reception was given them in the evening, the sisters of the groom serving an elegant supper. Great credit is reflected on the Misses Cannon for the manner in which they received and entertained this large company.

About eighty invited guests were present to extend congratulations to the happy couple and wish them bon voyage.

The bride is a graduate of the Victor high school and later attended college at Austin, Minnesota, having prepared herself for teaching in which she was most successful. The groom is a prosperous farmer noted for his sterling qualities and is in every way worthy of the bride he has chosen.

The best wishes of a wide circle of friends follow the happy couple to their home.
