DEEP RIVER LADY IS BOUND AND ROBBED

Mrs. Henry Goebel Is Victim of Attack And Is Robbed of $100.

(From the Montezuma Republican)

Sheriff D.A. Mulcahy and deputy Fred Cochran have been giving much of their time the past few days investigating a robbery at the Henry Goebel home in Deep River at which Mrs. Goebel was slugged and bound and $100 taken.

Mrs. Goebel stated that a green car with a brown top drove up to the house from which a man emerged. He came to the back door and thinking she knew him admitted him. He stated that Charles Ladely had sent him for the interest money left at the Goebel home. She stepped to the telephone to call Mr. Ladely to ascertain whether or not this was true. The man grabbed her by the left arm. She broke away and made a dash for the bed room to protect the money. He struck her a blow on the forehead and she was knocked unconscious, and later found by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Rex Surber, on her return home from town. Mrs. Goebel was in an unconscious state and her hands tied behind her back. Mrs. Surber immediately went to town and informed Mr. Goebel and Mr. Surber of the happening. They went to the house immediately, revived Mrs. Goebel, and put her to bed.
