CHAS. "KING" RECTOR IS NOW THE "ALL-AMERICAN JOHNNY"

"King" Rector, whose real name is Charles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rector, formerly of this city, is now nationally known as "All-American Johnny," the smallest beer salesman in the world. His picture appears in a recent issue of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, published at the time of the national Lions' convention there, with the caption, "the smallest Lion in the world." He is also an Elk. He now travels for the Breckenbridge Brewing Company of Pittsburgh, makers of All-American beer.

"All-American Johnny" was born in Newton and is now 26 years old. He started to attend Parker school in Grinnell but only attended a short time as his parents moved back to Malcom.

When he grew up he organized an orchestra of his own, called "Charles Rector's Gloom Chasers" in which he played the xylophone and traps. The orchestra has played here on several occasions. For the last two winters he has been an entertainer in a Miami night club.

He accepted his present position last May, and expects to have been in every state in the Union by Feb. 1, making all the larger cities. About the middle of August he will be at the World's Fair in New York and he will broadcast over the NBC from the various cities which he visits.

While on his tours he will wear an "Uncle Sam" costume and will be a new edition of the Philip Morris' "Johnny."

During the winter he will be in the south, probably with headquarters in Miami, Fla.
