FLEENER KIN IN 19TH REUNION

For the 19th consecutive year, the Fleener family reunion took place Sunday, Aug. 2, this year at the grounds of the Searsboro Consolidated schools where 52 relatives assembled. Fried chicken featured the bountiful dinner menu, the meal being followed by a business meeting in charge of the chairman, Albert Meyers. Minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary, Ruth Gertsma.

New officers elected for the ensuing year included H.R. Fleener, president; Mrs. M.D. McCullough, vice president; Mrs. Everett Fleener, secretary-treasurer; Cecil Gertsma and Mrs. Osmond Gunderson, grounds committee; Ida Fleener and Mrs. Albert Meyers, program committee. Recitations by Mary Jane De Vries and David Gertsma and group singing of "God Be With You Till We Meet Again," closed the meeting.

Those present were Mr. and Mrs. George A. Hyde and Alice Jane, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schooley and Arthur, Mr. and Mrs. Everton Fleener and Harold Lloyd, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Davidson, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Arment, Gerald, Lucie, Belle and Duane, Mr. and Mrs. Myrle Arment, Mildred, Veda and Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fleener and Henry Fleener, all of Grinnell; Ida B. Fleener, Mr. and Mrs. M.D. McCullough, Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Fleener, Mr. and Mrs. Osmond Gunderson and Mrs. Jane Fleener, all of Searsboro; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Longnecker of Taintor; Mamie Kline of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Gertsma, John Andrew, Lawrence and David of Lynnville; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyers of Oskaloosa; Mr. and Mrs. David Longaker and Mary Sue of Montezuma; Mrs. Gus Christinson, Dorothy, George and Paul of DeKalb, Ill., Mary Jane DeVries of New Sharon; and a special guest, Joe Humbert of Searsboro.
